We are looking for a Chief Legal & Compliance Officer
The Chief Legal & Compliance Officer is a strategic and results-oriented leader who will play a pivotal role in ensuring our company operates with the highest ethical and legal standards. You will provide comprehensive legal counsel and oversee the development and implementation of a robust compliance program. This leadership position directly influences the success of our organization and significantly impacts our portfolio of companies.
Responsibilities
- Legal Expertise:
- Advise senior leadership on a broad range of legal matters concerning corporate governance, business transactions, and healthcare regulations.
- Led the legal team in managing litigation, disputes, and regulatory inquiries.
- Oversee contract negotiations and ensure all agreements comply with legal requirements.
- Compliance Leadership:
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive compliance program that mitigates legal and reputational risks.
- Oversee compliance with all applicable federal and state healthcare laws and regulations, including Medicare-specific regulations.
- Ensure compliance with regulations such as TCPA, HIPAA, and those governing marketing, data privacy, and anti-kickback laws.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Foster a culture of compliance within the organization through training and education initiatives.
- Strategic Collaboration:
- Partner with business leaders across the organization to integrate legal and compliance considerations into strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with departments such as Product, Marketing, and Operations to ensure adherence to regulations in product development, marketing activities, and business operations.
- Advise the executive team on legal and compliance matters.
- Small Group Employee Benefits experience is not required but is helpful. Part of the duties will involve gradually assuming responsibility for this.
To Thrive in this role, you should possess:
- Juris Doctorate degree (JD)
- Licensed attorney in good standing in any U.S. jurisdiction
- 10+ years of experience in healthcare law, with a proven track record of success in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing the healthcare industry, including Medicare-specific regulations (TCPA, HIPAA, etc.)
- Strong understanding of legal and compliance best practices.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective legal and compliance programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
