Role Overview

We're seeking an Optimization Engineer to join our team and drive the performance improvements of our AI systems. In this role, you'll work on optimizing AI models, runtime environments, and infrastructure to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal resource usage across various local deployment scenarios.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize the performance of AI models for execution on local infrastructure
• Develop and implement algorithms for model compression, quantization, and pruning
• Optimize memory usage, computation speed, and energy efficiency of AI workloads
• Collaborate with runtime and systems teams to ensure end-to-end optimization
• Create benchmarking tools and performance metrics for continuous improvement
• Research and implement state-of-the-art optimization techniques from academic papers
• Contribute to the development of auto-optimization tools for our AI platform

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in performance optimization, preferably in AI/ML systems
• Strong background in computer science, mathematics, or a related field
• Proficiency in Python and C++; familiarity with Rust or Go is a plus
• Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and neural network architectures
• Experience with model compression techniques (quantization, pruning, distillation)
• Familiarity with hardware architectures (CPU, GPU, TPU) and their performance characteristics
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
