Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Land Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting land surveys, preparing maps, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with surveying equipment and software.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Boundary Surveys: Determine the exact boundaries of a property, often for legal purposes or property sales.
- Topographic Surveys: Create detailed maps showing the natural and man-made features of a landscape, such as hills, buildings, trees, and roads.
- Subdivision Planning: Help developers divide land into lots for housing or commercial projects by accurately plotting the layout of roads, utilities, and plots.
- Elevation Certificates: Determine the elevation of a property to assess flood risks or comply with local regulations.
Essential Skills/Attributes
- College Graduate, preferably Civil Engineer
- 7+ years post-graduate, full-time professional experience
- Experience using the following software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Experience with Carlson Survey Software is a plus.
- Experienced with US client is a plus.
- Familiar Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Eagerness to learn and master new software and standards
- Ability to comply with provided standards and procedures
- Ability to work directly with 3 or 4 different project managers to support the various drafting needs.
- Attention to detail
- Able to learn from corrections and avoid repeating the same mistakes.
- Proactive in asking questions for clarity when unsure, taking the initiative rather than waiting for a reviewer to correct them.
- Takes pride in drafting documents correctly the first time.
- Amenable to work during US time zone (Pacific).
- Needs to connect through telephone, Teams chat and email.
- Willing to work on a Project-Based arrangement.
