Are you passionate about ensuring that newly designed engineering products are going to work and scale in the real world? The Operations Engineering team sits between the Engineering and Operations organizations and is critical to ensuring that the equipment we design is usable, maintainable, and lasts as long as possible. Our flight and fulfillment operators drive Zipline, and their ability to use our hardware and software systems to serve our customers around the world, seven days a week is paramount to Zipline’s success. As a Field Systems Engineer, your job is to help them do this as easily and efficiently as possible. You will be focused on developing the maintenance and operations concepts for our next generation systems, working hand-in-hand with design engineering to integrate lessons learned from our existing operations into the early stage designs of our new products. You will be responsible for creating the technical documentation to enable operators around the world to use and maintain these systems and will be an instrumental leader in bringing a brand new, cutting-edge system into the field for the first time. This requires a deep understanding of Zipline’s technical and operational systems and the ability to easily translate between those two worlds. If working in a highly cross-functional environment, solving complex problems, and driving continuous improvement appeal to you, read on.
