Senior Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY

ARCOS is seeking a Senior Accountant for a temp-to-hire position, with an estimated temporary assignment lasting six months and the potential for a permanent role afterward. The ideal candidate will have experience with year-end financial audits, integrating companies into ARCOS through mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and supporting the month-end close process. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned accountant to contribute to ARCOS's financial operations and potentially transition into a full-time role.

This position must interact with staff, work independently and be flexible, pro-active, and efficient.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, accounts payable, accounts receivable).
• Become a subject matter expert in the new revenue recognition guidance (ASC 606) and help ensure adherence and guidance for new products.
• Assist with the revenue recognition for month end reporting.
• Assist with preparing and filing sales and use tax returns.
• Assist with business tax support and filings
• Review Unbilled charges and book necessary monthly journal entries.
• Maintain depreciation schedule, fixed asset purchases and asset disposals.
• Maintain prepaid schedule for monthly expenditures.
• Play an active role in the financial close process and preparation of month-end journal entries and reconciliations.
• Identify trends or issues that require management attention.
• Play an integral part with mid-year and year end external audit. Gathers requested information when needed.
• Maintain all records in an organized and safe manner.
• Assist with various accounting tasks and special accounting projects as assigned by the Controller.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Proven experience in Accounting and/or Finance; SaaS experience is a plus.
• A minimum of seven years’ experience working independently in an accounting department. An Accounting Degree is a plus.
• Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and excellent communication skills are all essential to this position.
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Detailed working knowledge of accounting rules and software.
• Excellent typing skills, strong grammar, and spelling abilities.
