1. Strong Oracle Database Administration skills over a period of no less than 7 years and covering at least Oracle 9i/ 10g / 11g releases. Should have experience on DB2 as well.
2 Support to developers on PL/SQL and Application/SQL tuning point of view.
3 Transportable table spaces.
4 Database refreshes/restore (RMAN/export-import) as on when required. Good understanding of RMAN backup technology.
5. Helping Apps DBA on RMAN cloning (Now RMAN Scripts has been given to Apps DBA to perform RMAN cloning. Also Helping Apps DBA on core DBA task like restoration/cloning issues.
6. New Database Creation and Database Upgrade. Experience in supporting ASM instances.
7. OEM Grid control configuration, maintenance, Day to day Grid control administration and Grid control alert monitoring in Production environment, proactive action to be taken as per business criticality.
8. Oracle Application server support on from DBA point of view like OC4J, J2EE, OID and Discoverer.
9. Database Performance (including server setting for Oracle database, db parameters, query tuning, etc.)
10. PL/SQL to administer DBA functions
11. Database compliance/Security and understanding to setup up auditing. (SOX/ PCI etc)
12. Scheduling (DBMS_JOBS and DBMS_SCHEDULER) and Database space management.
13. Any experience of supporting data warehousing/VLDB environments with good performance tuning and architectural knowledge.(Must)
14. Experience of creating and supporting Standby Databases
15. Should have exposure on BCV/ SRDF/ or Global Mirror (storage level syncing)

This individual should possess strong English communication skills and be able to work with other individuals regardless of their area of technical expertise. A strong drive to succeed and the ability to work both independently and as part of a group are also very important. Finally, mentoring of other individuals both within the group and potentially in a larger IT context will be part of this role.
