Security Analyst
2+ months Contract
Hybrid Position

As a Security Analyst, you will play a critical role in implementing firewall rules and managing the firewall environment. We are looking for individuals with experience in a complex enterprise environment, as we value the ability to adapt to different firewall vendors and configurations.

Responsibilities:

Write firewall rules for an enterprise-level firewall environment.
Communicate with users in English to clarify firewall rule requests and collaborate with IT Security to determine rule approvals.
Utilize an enterprise firewall management platform (please specify brands) for managing firewall configurations.
Be available on-site at the client's location part-time to ensure effective firewall management.
Assess vulnerability reports and make informed decisions on implementing firewall rules.
Analyze firewall logs and network connection logs to verify successful host connections.
Demonstrate proficiency in basic networking troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with IT support ticketing systems and processes.
Perform security audits to identify vulnerabilities and develop strategies for mitigation.
Possess knowledge and certifications in CompTIA Security+, Ethical Hacking, and Information Security.
Collaborate with incident response teams (IRT) and network operations centers (NOC) for security incident handling and resolution.
Conduct packet analysis to detect and investigate security breaches.
Perform security analysis and planning to enhance the overall security posture.
Familiarity with LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) for user authentication and authorization.
Experience with Site Minder for access management and single sign-on (SSO).
Work in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment to monitor and respond to security events and incidents.

Skills and Experience:

Minimum of 1+ years of experience in writing rules for an enterprise firewall (not small business).
Proficiency in working with specific firewall brands (please specify).
Strong communication skills in English to interact with users and IT Security.
Experience using an enterprise firewall management platform (please specify brands).
Ability to work on-site part-time and be physically present at the client site.
Understanding of vulnerability reports and the ability to make informed decisions based on them.
Proficient interpretation of firewall logs and network connection logs.
Basic networking troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with IT support ticketing systems and processes.
Experience working in a complex enterprise environment.
Possession of relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Ethical Hacking, and other information security certifications.
Knowledge and experience in security audits, incident response, packet analysis, LDAP, and Site Minder.
