Senior Pipeline Technician- Mechanical
Permanent Position in Midland, TX Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Pipeline Technician is responsible for performing activities required to successfully operate and maintain Client stations and pipeline facilities. These technicians are multi-skilled employees specializing in highly technical work within a specific geographical area on the largest interstate natural gas pipeline system in the United States. Positions may focus on one or more of the following technical skills:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, overhaul, and repair rotating and reciprocating compression equipment.
Typical Responsibilities: - Assist in performing scheduled preventative maintenance on operational equipment at assigned facilities. Recognize abnormal operating conditions and support emergency response efforts.
- Locate pipelines and oversee third-party excavation and line crossings. Install and inspect pipeline markers.
- Operate work equipment, including power tools, hand tools, and specialized instruments used in pipeline operations, maintenance, and facility repair.
- Maintain and operate facilities in compliance with specifications, codes, safety, and environmental standards/records, as well as company operating procedures.
- Assist in maintaining records in accordance with required state, federal, and company procedures.
- Review work assignments with the team to ensure work is completed following established safe work practices and reporting protocols.
Qualifications: - An Associate of Applied Science degree in a technical specialization is preferred. Ideal degrees include Aviation Maintenance, Diesel Mechanics, Natural Gas Technology, Compression Technology, Instrumentation, Controls, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, or Corrosion. A comparable undergraduate degree with a technical specialization certification is applicable.
- Typically, candidates applying for this position without the preferred education requirements should possess four to six years of related, progressive work experience.
- Successful completion of the Pipeline Technician Academy and/or achievement of at least one skill-block.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
