ABOUT YOU:
The Director of Strategic Projects will hold a strategic position within the Tech Infrastructure division, overseeing a wide range of initiatives—from launching new products and services to implementing innovative processes that support both technology and business objectives. Focused on achieving specific and often unique goals, this role requires close collaboration with various tech departments to ensure that the teams' initiatives are aligned with the organization's broader strategic aims. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional project management skills, and a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
○ Leadership and Management:
- Manage the entire project lifecycle from planning and scoping through to execution, monitoring, and delivery, ensuring all projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of special projects to align with organizational goals and objectives.
- Manage project budgets effectively, ensuring financial resources are utilized efficiently and within allocated limits.
- Act as a liaison between project teams and senior management, providing regular updates on progress, challenges, and outcomes.
- Oversee multiple large-scale technical projects, including cloud migration initiatives, Microsoft solutions implementation, and collaboration tool enhancements (e.g., Teams).
○ Innovation Leadership:
- Cultivate a culture of innovation within the IT team, promoting creative thinking, experimentation with new technologies, and the adoption of best practices.
- Identify, assess, and implement emerging technologies and solutions to enhance IT service delivery, collaboration, and operational efficiency.
- Advocate for innovative approaches and solutions within projects, encouraging creativity and experimentation to achieve exceptional results.
○ Team Leadership and Development:
- Support leadership in coordinating and negotiating contracts and agreements with external vendors, partners, and stakeholders to secure resources for projects.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of project managers, while providing matrix-level mentorship to engineers and analysts, ensuring successful project delivery, clear timelines, and goals.
○ Stakeholder Management and Communication:
- Serve as the main point of contact for special projects, facilitating communication between technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, status updates, and reports to senior management, clearly communicating project progress, risks, and results.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, and partners to ensure alignment and support for project initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8+ years of experience in IT project management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role managing large-scale technical projects
- Proven success in overseeing migration initiatives and leading dynamic project engagements.
- Strong experience with Microsoft technologies (Office 365, SharePoint, Teams)
Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in presenting to senior management and leading cross-functional teams.
