This is a 3-day/week and 21 hours/week temporary position.
Description:
Working with the communications manager and supervised by the Executive Editor, this role will assist with a number of long term and short term communications projects such as; creating templates, updating websites, producing the online journal, design and print fall documents, advertising, and marketing. This role will report to the Executive Director and will be supervised by the Executive Editor. Must know Creative Cloud and Adobe Products and be willing to assist with process improvement. Mondays and Wednesdays, must be available to work in the office.
Responsibilities:
· Under the direction of Harvard clients, responsible for the creative design, layout and production of visually compelling and effective mass communications.
· Create visual compositions that combine layout, typography, and both illustrated and photographic images to help communicate in a way that inspires, informs, or captivates readers.
· Use typical graphics software (e.g., Quark, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat) to design and produce finished communications.
· Generate design ideas and options, advise on layout, typefaces, colors and styles.
· Final products may include brochures, reports, signage, publications, presentations, educational and marketing materials.
· Capable of advanced implementation of the principles of typography, color and design consistent with Harvard or school brand standards.
· May work in an online environment using web-based graphics and design tools such as Flash, FrontPage and Dream Weaver.
· Provide all graphic source files and master copies of finished pieces to Harvard clients at the end of the assignment.
