Carpenter - Onsite

Responsible for designing, building, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, furniture, and other items using different types of materials including wood and steel.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

• Project layout
• Estimate height, width, length, and other proportions.
• Select materials.
• Read and understand plans and/or instructions from supervisors.
• Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.
• Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures.
• Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
• Work on top of stilts, ladders, scaffold and the structure of buildings.
• Inspect work to ensure compliance with building codes and project specifications.
• Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure.
• Build stairs, mantles, and furniture.
• Install cabinets and molding.
• Renovation of buildings and businesses.
• Construction of forms and fabrication of reinforcing to place concrete systems.
• Erect scaffolding and shoring.
• Installation of ceiling.
• Installation of windows, doors, frames and hardware.
• Repair or build furniture.
• Install partitions
• Build other items as required
• Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment

 WORKING CONDITIONS

 Physical Demands

• Physically strenuous and demanding job.
• Lifting, pulling and managing heavy equipment and objects.
• Work in all weather, and must be prepared for both extreme heat and cold.
• May be exposed to unpleasant sights and smells.
• May at times be exposed to dangerous and/or toxic substances and must take necessary precautions to protect eyes, nose and skin from irritation and infection.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Range $23 to $30 hourly
