Job Title: Management Accountant Team Lead
Job Type: Fulltime
Reports To: Head of Finance
Main Responsibilities
- Set objectives for the reporting team that align with the accounting department’s goals
- Oversee the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations are completed and the month end checklist is followed.
- Manage revenue recognition in accordance with local and IFRS regulations including the accurate accounting treatment for lease, management and franchise contracts.
- Preparation of the consolidated Indonesia monthly management accounts covering all entities in Indonesia
- Oversee and support the Management Accountant team in Indonesia to ensure accounting policies are being adhered to, balance sheet and inter-company reconciliations are being performed and that management accounts are delivered on-time.
- Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures
- Ensure that property level P&L’s are correct, completed in accordance with the company format and USALI for hotel properties and submitted on-time. Liase with property owners and LL’s to review monthly operating performance and address and questions or queries that may arise.
- Ensure fixed asset policy is being correctly applied, assets are captured and accounted for accurately, assets are assigned correctly to each property and that assets disposed of are accounted for timely.
- Oversee statutory reporting obligations such as withholding taxes, payroll taxes, hotel tax, VAT and corporate taxes to ensure that filings are on time and correct
- Review the AR balances on a monthly basis and work with the Accounts Receivable team to ensure provisions for doubtful debts are made where appropriate
- Support with the preparation of the year end working papers and support auditors to complete the audit of the financial statements.
- Work with company secretary and external consultants to complete monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, business license and other statutory reporting obligations
- Ensure corporate insurance policies are kept up to date and renewed on-time;
- Manage cash flow reporting and ensure timey submission of capital funding requests to Singapore Head Office
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with other business functions
Specifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 6 - 8 years of work experience as a Management Accountant or as an accounting junior manager/supervisor in a medium sized accounting practice.
- People management experience would be preferred
- Advanced in using Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge and experience with IFRS
- Experience with month end close and preparation of consolidated financial statements.
- Good working knowledge of accounting systems (cloud based).
- Able to manage and prioritise time and be committed to meet deadlines for assigned tasks and deliverables.
- Meticulous with an eye for detail and have strong analytical capabilities;
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Displays initiative and a positive attitude that would contribute to a harmonious team working environment.
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) will be an advantage
