People Advisor

Salary: £35-£40k DOE, plus equity

Location: UK-based, remote

The People Team at Vestd is on a mission to grow an inclusive, high performance culture. We are currently looking for an experienced, and motivated People Advisor to support us achieving our ambitious business plans.

You will work in the People Team to provide advice on performance management, employee relations matters, operations and talent acquisition along with wellbeing initiatives. Identifying improvement opportunities will come instinctively to support an efficient and effective manager and employee experience.

We're looking for someone who will demonstrate a true passion for our goals and values and be able to navigate sensitive issues. You will be driven by a desire to influence through data and/or insights. You’ll have experience in the tech/startup/SaaS space. The role presents a real opportunity to grow our people skills, and drive process change across the business.

Main activities

  • Being a trusted advisor by using professional credibility and strong relationships to influence best practices aligned with Vestd values
  • Being the first point of contact for queries and advice
  • Resolving and managing generalist type queries for managers and employees (e.g. probationary reviews, policy advice, sickness absence)
  • Managing the talent pipeline, including the screening process
  • Analysing and interpreting data to identify themes, trends and risks in ER cases or through the employee lifecycle and recommend solutions
  • Acting as a change-agent by understanding where team processes can be simplified or revised to promote more efficiency or manager self-service
  • Assisting in driving communication and sharing of best practices across the people team to facilitate continuous improvement
  • Supporting line managers across the employee lifecycle on the implementation of policies and procedures to embed a culture of high performance and talent development
  • Building Vestd's culture by supporting and facilitating team events and retreats

Requirements

What you will bring

  • At least 3 years solid employee relations experience at advisory or senior level, backed with level 5 CIPD qualification
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, changing or progressive environment, preferably having worked in a remote or hybrid and that is your preferred working style
  • Experience of working in a tech company, a startup or a SaaS business
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law in the UK plus a baseline understanding for our other locations with a desire to continually broaden this knowledge
  • Coaching skills to guide and support managers through often challenging and emotive situations
  • A focus on the employee experience and to drive continual improvement Proficient us of HR/People data to take a holistic view of emerging trends in order to pre-empt future challenges
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at once and achieve against tight deadlines
  • Strong influencing and communication skills in order to collaborate, build relationships and manage stakeholders
  • Creative, proactive problem solver who deals effectively with change and ambiguity
  • A passion for diversity, equity and inclusion and treating everyone with respect
