Job Description:
SUMMARY SCOPE: Impacts the efficient sterilization of instruments utilized in patient care.
SUMMARY FUNCTION: Provides all tasks associated with sterile processing within the surgical, hospital and clinic settings.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Inspects instrumentation for signs of wear and tear. Identifies and forwards items in need of repair to Sterile Processing Coordinator. Coordinates with nurse manager concerning special daily instrumentation/tray needs. Identifies, reports and resolves shared resource conflicts. Collaborates with Sterile Processing Coordinator for adequate daily supply needs. Maintains minimal PAR levels and notifies coordinator for order needs. Assists with resolution of instrumentation/equipment problems in the operation room.
EDUCATION REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: should have at least 400 hours of hands-on Sterile Processing experience
