About the Role

Our client, a start-up online print-on-demand T-shirt business is seeking a skilled Freelance Graphic Designer to create visually appealing and culturally respectful designs. The brand will feature unique designs that resonate with a global audience interested in Rastafari and African heritage. The ideal candidate will have experience in clothing graphics, a deep understanding of Rastafari symbols, colors, and culture, and a passion for creating designs that are both meaningful and marketable.

Responsibilities:

• Develop original and culturally respectful T-shirt designs inspired by Rastafari symbols, figures, and historical facts.
• Work closely with the client to understand their vision and translate it into visually compelling designs.
• Ensure all designs are respectful and accurately reflect Rastafari culture, avoiding cultural appropriation.
• Be open to feedback and make necessary adjustments to designs based on client input.

Requirements

• Proven experience in graphic design, particularly in creating designs for clothing. A portfolio showcasing similar work is required.
• Strong understanding of Rastafari culture, including its symbols, colours (red, gold, green), and historical context.
• Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar tools.
• Ability to create designs that are both visually appealing and aligned with the brand’s cultural focus.
