CPET Career Coach
The CPET Career Coach, reporting to the CPET Site Manager, is part of a dedicated team consist of CPET Career Coaches and Workforce liaisons, providing comprehensive support to CalWORKS recipients, transitioning from public assistant to gain meaningful employment. The CPET Career Coach plays a key role in connecting participants with essential resources and opportunities, including educational programs, and job placement services. Additionally, the Career Coach is responsible for facilitating program orientation, designing employment plan, engage participants in job search activities through a 4-6 week job club program and reporting outcomes and progress to County partners. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Case management: Individual responsibility for direct services to CalWORKs participants including, career assessments, and training enrollments to GED and career technical education programs. Collaborate with the participant to develop and follow a self-sufficiency plan. Coordinate CalWORKs activities, such as work experience, community services, etc. and report progress to external county partner.
- Workshop Facilitation: Effectively deliver employment readiness workshop topics including resume development, job search skills, career exploration, program information and eligibility sessions to participants in a culturally accountable, participant-centered way, utilizing facilitation techniques appropriate to adult learners.
- Job Placement and Retention: Develop employer contacts, referral sources and generate job leads; make job placements and provide post-placement support to participants. Participate in employer recruitment events, job fairs, and networking events to support participants in their job search and placement efforts.
- Data Documentation and Reporting: Accurate collection of essential data and information related to job performance. Timely entry of this information into an electronic data system, and the tracking of important program and service-related information for reporting purposes. The ability to tabulate data and write narrative responses that effectively report and memorialize necessary information about participants and program activities. Adherence to agency standards concerning the type, method and timing of data entry at all points of the participant eligibility, enrollment, and service delivery process. A demonstrated understanding of privacy protection and data security, ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive and PII throughout all stages of data handling.
COMPETENCIES:
- Solid job development, career coaching and case management experience and expertise. Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of best practices for assisting economically disadvantaged and/or other misrepresented populations.
- Teamwork, interpersonal flexibility, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to inspire others; Ability to maintain professional partnerships and relations.
- Computer and internet proficiency, i.e. MS Teams, MS 365 office suite, experience CRM system or County’s CalSAW system desired.
- Cultural Responsiveness and an alignment with our values and commitment to equity and inclusion. If you don’t currently possess our organizational core competencies of Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, and Coaching, you are expected to participate in the necessary training Rubicon provides.
- This position requires occasional travel to appointments and other Rubicon meetings; if the employee opts to meet these travel requirements by driving, proof of a valid and current driver license, current auto insurance, and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report are required
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- $25-28/hr DOE
- Medical, Dental and Vision health plans. Kaiser and Sutter Health options.
