We are looking for a software developer with a passion for MLOps/DevOps and a strong inclination towards industrialization of solutions. Our goal is to enable data science, Client modeling, analytics, digital twins, translational immunology, and many other approaches in support of the development of new vaccines and therapeutics using mRNA technologies. Your work will help Client the digital foundations for a team of over 30 experts and accelerate the implementation and industrialization of solutions that will drive the next generation of mRNA technologies.
In this role you will:
- Collaborate with team members, stakeholders and other group experts to build and evolve foundational digital systems supporting activities within the Data and Computational Science team
- Build, deploy and manage MLOps and DevOps capabilities/solutions, including Client pipelines, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., for automated deployments and testing), and testing reports
- Deliver high-value solutions by leveraging AGILE methodologies (e.g., Shape-Up) based on short feedback loops with users and collaborative ways of working (e.g., pair-programming)
- Demonstrate good software engineering practices, and apply these across the research pipeline, from prototypes of new methods to mature and validated methods
- Maintain a well-documented, reusable codebase, and traceable model history
- Support data science projects across the mRNA CoE in collaboration with other members of the Data and Computational Science team
- Maintain awareness of latest developments in relevant fields, evaluate those developments, and apply them as warranted
- Generate IP and participate in the drafting of patent filings
- Proactively identify, assess, and internalize emerging technologies and methods
About you
- 6+ years of experience developing, deploying, and managing production-hardened systems
- Experience in deploying production cloud-native applications, leveraging Client models, including managing distributed compute infrastructure and developing Client pipelines with validation
- Experience using Docker and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and OpenShift
- Experience in Client project management frameworks such as Metaflow and MLflow
- Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments and testing
- Experience with DevOps and GitOps best practices is a plus
- Strong programming (Python) skills with experience developing applications, APIs, and deploying solutions to the cloud
- Familiarity with big data, cloud computing and parallel computing
- Excellent analytical and problem solving as well as communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
- Good interpersonal and cooperative skills
- Understanding of drug/vaccine discovery and development processes is a plus, as well as familiarity with RNA biology and RNA-centric techniques/methods
- Fluency in English (oral and written), knowledge of French is a plus
- Minimum Education Bachelors degree •
