ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION
LIFT is a national nonprofit on a mission to invest in families to break the cycle of poverty. We believe that racial and gender wealth gaps stem from structural inequities that keep them trapped in a cycle where poverty, like wealth, is passed from generation to generation. At LIFT, we interrupt the generational transmission of poverty by partnering with parents of young children to build well-being, financial strength, and social connections – or as we like to put it, Hope, Money, and Love. LIFT’s one-on-one coaching program empowers parents to set and achieve goals that put families on the path toward economic mobility – such as going back to school, improving credit, eliminating debt, or securing a living wage. In addition to coaching, LIFT parents also receive direct cash infusions to reinvest in their families and goals.
LIFT is at an exciting moment in its organizational trajectory. We aim to scale our impact by 1) making continuous improvements to our direct service model, 2) partnering with health care, postsecondary education, early child development, and government organizations to deliver LIFT’s model and influence change in those systems, and 3) influencing policy through the amplification of the voices of parents living in poverty on issues impacting their lives and communities. We are looking for team players who thrive in a growth environment of continuous improvement; are committed to LIFT’s work to combat intergenerational poverty and expand opportunity for families; and uphold LIFT’s values of diversity, equity, excellence, hope, and relationships.
*LIFT has transitioned to a hybrid schedule, and the ideal candidate will be expected to work in the DC office as needed, typically twice a week. Additional flexibility may be negotiated based on the candidate’s and the team’s needs. However, the selected candidate will need to be able to work East Coast hours.
POSITION OVERVIEW
LIFT’s National Program Team oversees the design, continual improvement, and evaluation of LIFT’s direct service, technical assistance, and policy work with the goal of increasing impact for members, scaling our coaching model, and systems change. The Evaluation Department of the National Program Team aims to foster the highest quality program evaluation across all LIFT regions and lines of work by 1) designing and implementing evaluation tools and systems that allow LIFT to evaluate the efficacy of its program 2) performing analyses and facilitating data interpretation for continuous improvement, and 3) assuring evaluative findings are used to inform LIFT’s systems change work and communicate LIFT’s impact. Analytical work in the anti-poverty space and more specifically at LIFT has a unique feature: the analysis supports making a difference in the lives of the communities we serve.
This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, self-starter to expand evaluation efforts at a fast-growing organization. The Evaluation Manager will lead analysis of survey, progress, and feedback data, and synthesize information so that it can be digested and used by the organization’s decision makers. In addition, the Evaluation Manager will support regional staff with data collection efforts, understanding program performance data, and reporting to stakeholders.
AS AN EVALUATION MANAGER, YOU WILL:
Synthesize data on program performance and trends for internal monitoring and evaluation
Serve as evaluation point of contact and reporting lead for key partnerships
Provide support for LIFT’s learning agenda and program evaluations, including thought partnership on evaluation strategy and learning questions
