Summary: The individual is responsible for the server infrastructure and ensuring the stable operation of systems based on Citrix, Windows Server 2012- 2022, VMware ESXi, and File Services based on NetApp. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing the server environment in the US. Additionally, the individual is responsible for administering server equipment, automatic software upgrades, configuration management, and system monitoring. The administrator will also be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining procedures and associated training plans for server resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery.
Responsibilities: - Provides tier 3 technical support and administration of the servers and software that support our business applications in a high availability, 24 hour global operating environment.
- Manages incidents, problems, queries and requests relating to the IT Infrastructure that have been escalated from the Support Desk.
- Analyzes, diagnoses, and delivers resolution of incidents and known problems.
- Responds to monitoring notifications, picks up infrastructure and application alerts, identifies technical components in error, and investigates to determine the root cause.
- Implements technical changes while working within strict change management guidelines.
- Manages major incidents including business impact analysis, working with suppliers and any 3rd parties to resolve issues, and escalating as required.
- Participates in Incident reviews.
- Conducts testing of patches and new software.
- Participates in problem management while coordinating with the US based team members to enable continuous improvement of the application environment and system stability.
- Works within established ITIL processes in support of the systems, including service requests, incident and problem management, and change control.
Qualifications: Must have - - At least 5 years of Citrix virtual desktop administration & support experience.
- At least 5 years IT Windows server 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022 administration & support experience.
- Strong knowledge in administration of Windows Server, VMware, Citrix, monitoring software, and configuration management.
- Experience with using the VMware Virtual Center console to build and deploy new virtual servers as well as manage existing virtual systems.
- Experience solving complex and large-scale hardware/software problems including strong project and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication.
Should also have - - Strong knowledge of Active Directory.
- Experience with deploying software applications and updates using SCCM.
- Knowledgeable with PowerShell scripting.
- Experience with troubleshooting Microsoft Office products.
- Familiar with Citrix ShareFile cloud storage.
- Preferred experience in support of Client servers and operating systems.
- Familiar with Backup software.
- Storage connectivity (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, etc.) experience.
- Experience supporting one or more of the following technologies - Terminal Services, SQL, WebSphere, IIS, and Apache Tomcat a plus.
- Familiar with Networking (TCP/IP, WINS, DNS, DHCP).
- High skill in operations based ITIL standard processes.
- General IT understanding and a strong ability to develop further IT skills.
- Knowledge and experience working within change control.
