The Business Analyst will support the documentation of an in-house developed application, provide technical application support for our utility client and will be required to coordinate system requirements with technical resources, project managers, and customers at various levels. Responsibilities will include analysis, change management, coordinating and tracking of information on high visibility and tightly scheduled large projects with customers and deadlines. The candidate will also be required to develop solutions that require depth of technical knowledge and understand through discussions with the technical team.
Location: This position is part time (25 hours per week), and candidate must be onsite 2 days a week
If this sounds like the kind of environment where you can thrive, keep reading! The Challenge:- Analyzing, evaluating, and documenting business processes
- In collaboration with developer and engineer, fully document homegrown MS Access applications, along with associated as-is business processes. (moved up to top)
- Document user requirements for each app - what must it do from a business perspective, essentially why it matters and explore other options to consider vs. maintaining status quo.
- In collaboration with assigned Business Architect, evaluate options and develop a short-term plan to manage the applications along with a long-term plan to move off the non-supported version of Access to supported version or entirely different applications as appropriate, considering such tools as CC&B, WACS, NMS, AMI and other enterprise class systems.
- Explore the possibility of Landis and Gyr applications designed to work with meters
- Gathering key requirements from stakeholders and producing useful reports and analysis
- Facilitating meetings and presenting reports, analysis, or findings
- Validating solutions meet business needs and requirements.
- Develop a thorough understanding of business processes, best practices, and available supporting technology & documentation.
What Sets You Apart:- Bachelor's degree in relevant field. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
- Ability to explain technical solutions, practices, and procedures to technical resources, project managers, and customers at various levels through excellent written and oral communication skills
- Working knowledge of PMO processes/portfolio management processes
- Self-driven and have demonstrated the ability to work independently with minimum guidance
- Demonstrated multitasking ability, problem solving skills and a consistent record of on time delivery and customer service
- Excellent organizational skills
- Fluent in use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Visio experience a plus
