Role: (HMIS) IT Data Analyst Contract 6+ months Local to Oakland, CA Job Description: The HMIS Analyst, reporting to the SHIE Information System Manager, plays a crucial role in supporting the SHIE Team's HMIS business intelligence and data analytic objectives. This role involves managing complex data from various sectors in County for Medi-Cal enrollees and the uninsured. The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of HMIS systems, data, and current state and federal policies related to homelessness and housing services. The HMIS Analyst will serve as a subject-matter expert, offering guidance to technical and business units on designing, developing, and implementing data products and workflows to meet stakeholder objectives and business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide HMIS-related consulting and analytic services to leadership and stakeholders.
- Participate in planning meetings to document HMIS project requirements.
- Perform HMIS analytic tasks for the SHIE Team and stakeholders.
- Deliver accurate HMIS reports in predefined formats consistently and adapt to changing requirements.
- Manage multiple concurrent HMIS data analytic projects.
- Quickly learn existing HMIS processes and troubleshoot client analytic issues.
- Interface with HMIS vendors, technical support, and County partners.
- Provide HMIS support, mentoring, and training to junior analysts as needed.
Qualifications: - Minimum five (5) years of HMIS or Health IT data analysis experience, including proficiency in analytical software tools like Looker, QlikView, or Tableau. Formal informatics training is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and Excel data analysis. Python programming expertise is desirable but not necessary.
- Good communication skills for interactions with various stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail and data quality. Proficient in documentation and Wiki management.
- Ability to coordinate and report on multiple technical projects simultaneously.
- Requirement Engineering experience using product backlog management software is preferred but not required.
