Are you interested in using your software engineering skills to build numerical systems that enable running computationally intensive financial models at scale? Financial Engineering is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to design, implement and maintain software applications that enable measuring and managing the risk of our loan and investment portfolio. The software enables all lines of business to run computationally intensive models on a highly scalable, cloud-based environment (>10K cores) which provide business critical data and analytics.
Our impact
• We partner with various modeling teams (Single Family, Multi Family and Investments) that are responsible for the firm's credit and interest rate risk models
• We build financial model applications and risk management tools that make these models available for business use
• We ensure that our systems are robust, scalable and fault-tolerant
Your impact
• As a full stack developer (preferably polyglot), you will bring strong technical skills and the ability to design, propose, implement and deliver high quality products
• Enhance existing design and improve code quality and system efficiency
• Build reusable and scalable frameworks to enable other developers to solve problems at a high level of abstraction (API/Library/Service)
• Provide strong technical leadership to other junior members of the team
• Build partnerships with modeling, Information Technology and business teams
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technical field and 5-8 years of experience developing software applications, including experience with each of the following:
• A strong understanding of software engineering principles - design, development and operations
• Day to day hands on full stack developer - Java, Python and AWS
• Experience building resilient and scalable software that is easily portable to various computing infrastructures - on-prem, cloud
• Ability to motivate, teach and train other team members
• Experience in the financial industry, especially mortgages
• Exposure to quantitative finance and data science
• Exposure to Big Data technologies
