RPO Recruitment’s client, a well-established building contractor in Cape Town, is currently seeking to employ a qualified and hardworking Junior Estimator who can join their successful and growing team as soon as possible.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing accurate cost estimates
- Assisting with tender submissions
- Packaging RFQs (Request of Quotations)
- Compiling comprehensive BOQs (Bills of Quantities), as well as measuring and drawing-up of BOQs from drawings
- Attend site clarification meetings for tenders and provide feedback to Senior Management
- Following up on RFQs sent out to Sub-Contractors, ensuring that the most competitive priced quotes are received on each trade for the tender
- Build relationships with various Sub-Contractors and Suppliers to ensure the best pricing is received in the market
Requirements
- BTech in Quantity Surveying or similar qualification in the built environment
- Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience working in a building contractor environment
- Proficiency in CCS Candy and MS Office essential
- Valid Driver’s License and own transport
- Excellent planning, organising, communication and interpersonal skills
- Good decision making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritise and focus on deliverables
- A motivated self-starter who takes a proactive and solution driven approach
- Evidence of achieving deadlines in a demanding environment
