Description: As a Senior UC Engineering Consultant, your primary responsibility will be to provide architectural and infrastructure support to the management and infrastructure team. You will play a pivotal role in the design, development, delivery, and user experience of Unified Communications System platforms. Your expertise will encompass various technologies beyond Unified Communications, making you a valuable technical asset. Collaborating closely with IT teams and business partners, you will ensure exceptional user and technology experiences for the staff, members, and community.
Responsibilities:- Collaborate with vendors, clients, carriers, and technical staff to implement, optimize, and secure the Cisco Unified Communications system. This includes troubleshooting infrastructure and services like CUCM, CUC, IMP, Jabber, Webex, and video infrastructure.
- Perform maintenance and upgrades on infrastructure and endpoints.
- Lead analysis of new technologies from concept to implementation.
- Support the Video Infrastructure team lead.
- Conduct security reviews of infrastructure and applications.
- Research, recommend, and implement new software, hardware, tools, systems, and processes for cutting-edge collaboration experiences.
- Document procedures, user guides, technical guides, and project plans.
- Create support resources and help files.
- Provide insights and solutions for enhancing existing technology.
- Escalate issues to vendors and provide metrics/reports for conferencing services.
- Adhere to company standards, policies, and procedures.
- Contribute to a fast-paced organization.
Required Skills:- Ideally CCIE Collaboration, but CCNP Collaboration will be considered.
- Ability to establish and maintain client trust and confidence.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient troubleshooting abilities.
- Self-sufficiency in issue ownership and resolution.
- Basic knowledge of the financial services industry.
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco Call Manager.
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco Meeting Server.
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco Expressway/VCS.
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco TMS.
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco Meeting Manager.
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco Endpoints.
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco WebEx and Jabber.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Teams.
- Advanced knowledge of IPTV Streaming/Multicasting.
- Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting tools (WireShark etc).
- Proficiency in networking technologies and related tools (Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Load Balancers, etc.).
- Experience with Cisco TAC support.
Desirable Skills:- Advanced Excel skills.
- Programming/Scripting experience (Visual Basic/Python etc).
- Familiarity with Rest APIs (POSTMAN experience a plus).
- Documentation skills (Visio a plus).
- Application packaging and deployment experience.
