The individual should love making things run perfectly, whilst ensuring the highest levels of systems security across the business.<strong><br></strong><strong><br></strong></p><p><strong>In Your First Month, You Might:</strong></p><ul> <li>Gain an understanding of Nym's current infrastructure and self-hosted systems.</li> <li>Take over management of self-hosted hardware in our Fribourg data centre.</li> <li>Work closely with the Dev and Ops teams to streamline operations.</li> <li>Handle hardware maintenance, networking, and infrastructure automation.</li> <li>Identify pain points and propose long-term improvements.</li></ul><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul> <li>Manage self-hosted infrastructure in our Swiss data centre.</li> <li>Handle hardware maintenance, networking, and system monitoring.</li> <li>Prepare groundwork and business readiness for security audits <em>(Security audits will not be implemented by you).</em></li> <li>Automate processes using Terraform, Kubernetes (k8s), and scripting.</li> <li>Improve containerization and deployment workflows.</li> <li>Work alongside engineering and operations teams to ensure smooth performance.</li> <li>Take ownership of external systems relationships, hardware procurement, and maintenance.</li></ul><p><strong>Key Experience:</strong></p><ul> <li>5+ years as a SysAdmin, SRE, DevOps, or similar.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with self-hosted environments data centers, and/or homelabs.</li> <li>Strong networking and hardware maintenance skills.</li> <li>Proficiency in infrastructure automation and monitoring.</li> <li>Experience with Kubernetes (k8s), Terraform, and containerization.</li> <li>Ability to work fast and efficiently in a startup environment.</li> <li>Comfortable taking ownership and responsibility without micromanagement.</li> <li>Experience with cryptographic key management, including multi-sig and secret management.</li> <li>Based in Switzerland.</li></ul><p><strong>What We Offer You:</strong></p><ul> <li>A diverse and collaborative team of 50+, interested in learning and solving problems together.</li> <li>6 weeks annual leave plus national holidays.</li> <li>Yearly learning and development allowance.</li> <li>IT hardware package tailored to your role.</li> <li>Remote working <em>(with a bias towards in-person meetups periodically).</em></li> <li>A competitive salary.</li></ul> •
