Solution Software Engineer (f/m/d) 80%-100%

zetcom is one of the global market leaders for cultural institutions (museums & collections), managing organizations (foundations & associations) and environment departments (governments & corporations). More than customers in 30 countries use our configurable and customizable software (SaaS) to record cultural heritage, to manage daily business or to govern environment-relevant facilities. They are taken care of by our headquarters in Switzerland as well as our offices in Germany, France, Spain, Finland and USA and our worldwide partners. zetcom celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2023 with its 100 employees.

The custom code team is responsible for adapting and customizing our standard software according to our client’s needs. The team is working closely with our project managers to understand client requirements, design and implement sustainable and performant solutions and deploy them on our Kubernetes-based SaaS. The team is also working with our product manager to evolve our products, our core development team who provides the technical platform, and with the customer service team to troubleshoot complex issues.

Tasks

This role includes (but is not limited to):

• Design, implement, test & document high-quality solutions for our customers.
• Assist our project managers in business analysis and specifications of client
• Steering the solution design on behalf of our project managers and provide effort estimates.
• Troubleshoot and fix issues reported internally and by our customers.
• Contribute to best practices, code quality, processes, shared libraries, and tooling improvements with the team.

Requirements

What you should bring:

• Software engineering background on the Java platform. Groovy knowledge is an advantage.
• Familiar with Java ecosystem & tools (Maven, Git, IntelliJ, testing frameworks, Continuous Integration, Docker, Linux, ).
• Experience working with SaaS / Web applications and relational databases.
• Experience in business analysis and specifications as you are part of designing the solution.
• Comfortable working in project mode, with some client interactions.
• Approachable, ready to help and a team player. Good oral and written communication skills.
• Fluent in English. German or French are pluses.
