Analytics Engineer Lead

Dentolo is one of the fastest-growing insurance scale-ups in Europe. We are now looking for an Analytics Engineer Lead to join our Data Department. Your work will range from customer-focused development to workflow automation and internal tools to help our team and customers have a seamless experience.

What you need to be successful:

• General Experience:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in analytics engineering or business intelligence.

• 1+ years of experience in a leadership or team management role, demonstrating the ability to lead and mentor a team effectively.

• Technical Skills:

• Advanced proficiency in SQL and a strong track record of writing and optimizing complex queries.

• Excellent knowledge in dbt (Data Build Tool) for data modeling and transformation.

• Profound knowledge of Python for scripting and data manipulation.

• Experience with code versioning tools, particularly Git.

• Familiarity with Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools is a plus.

• Fluent in current cloud based data technologies

• Communication Skills:

• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

• Ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

• Experience in project management

• Continuous Learning:

• A commitment to staying updated with the latest trends and developments in analytics, data engineering, and related fields.

• Team Player:

• A collaborative and supportive mindset, fostering a positive team culture and mentorship within the team.

Your primary tasks will be:

• Team Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of 3 analytics engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
• Strategic Data Contribution: Shape the data strategy, with a focus on data modeling in dbt, to align with organizational goals.
• Hands-on Analytics Engineering: Actively participate in data transformation, migrating to dbt, and implementing best practices.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Sales, Operations, and departmental analysts to provide data-driven insights.
• Data Governance & Compliance: Ensure data privacy, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Promote Data-Driven Culture: Advocate for a data-driven culture organization-wide, promoting data literacy and decision-making based on data insights.
