Flutter Developer (Internship) - Join the Revolution in Life-Science Robotics at goodbot

Are you enthusiastic about robotics and keen to make a mark in life-science research? Become part of goodbot, a robotics startup in Freiburg, Germany, that's on a mission to transform biomedical research with innovative technology. Our groundbreaking robot, goodbot, is the first agile pipetting assistant specifically created for researchers, aimed at automating the pipetting process which is critical but often manual and error-prone in labs. This automation leads to increased accuracy, efficiency, and prevents strain injuries among researchers.

As an intern with our software department, you’ll work both independently and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team. Engage closely with our development team to design, develop, and test software aspects of the product for goodbot. This opportunity offers you a rich learning experience in electronics, robotics, mechanical engineering, software development, and life sciences, all while contributing to the enhancement of our robotic solutions. The position is based in Freiburg and offers flexible working hours to accommodate your academic commitments.

Tasks

• Design and develop new features
• Write clean, maintainable, efficient code and conduct peer code reviews.
• Testing and debugging
• Research on new and upcoming implementations and features
• Develop and execute comprehensive unit and integration tests for our Flutter app.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, improving efficiency across the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• You are currently enrolled in a University program in computer science or a related field
• You have experience with flutter and have basic understanding of C++
• You have familiarity with at least one state management tool, preferably Bloc or Riverpod
• You communicate openly and enjoy exchanging ideas and working within a small interdisciplinary team
• You work reliably and capable of working independently to meet project goals
• You enjoy learning new skills and staying current with industry trends

It is not mandatory but will be preferred if :

• You have familiarity with Firebase for seamless backend integration
• You have experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
• You have understanding of reactive programming concepts
