Senior Simulation Engineer

For our location in Freiburg im Breisgau, we are seeking an experienced Senior Simulation Engineer (m/f/d) who wants to take responsibility for the development and execution of sophisticated simulations. NexWafe is developing a method for the production of silicon wafers for the photovoltaic industry, requiring significantly fewer process steps than traditional methods, thereby reducing production costs, energy consumption, and CO₂ emissions. As a Senior Simulation Engineer, you have the opportunity to contribute to the commercialization of this groundbreaking technology.

Tasks

• In close coordination with the team and department management, you initiate, prepare, and conduct simulations.
• Ensure effective collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Provide support and guidance to junior simulation engineers and simulation engineers within the team.
• Analyze simulation results, prepare them, and present findings.
• Actively support the development of design concepts based on simulation results.
• Evaluate existing constructions in terms of thermal, flow, or process simulation results.

Requirements

• You have completed a degree (Bachelor/Master) in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• You are proficient in one or more simulation programs (e.g., CFD-Ansys or ComSol).
• Good PC and MS Office skills.
• In-depth experience with simulation tools in the areas of temperature, fluid flow, and mass flows.
• Good knowledge of heat transfer and/or fluid dynamics.
• You are a team player but can also work independently and take responsibility.
• Very good English skills; knowledge of German would be advantageous.
