The Chair of Public Law, European and International Law (Univ.-Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Weiss) is looking to fill a vacancy from 1st February 2024 or by agreement for a

Research Assistant (m/f/d)

with the opportunity to write a legal PhD thesis (doctor juris). Employment will be on a 0.5 FTE basis, remuneration is according to remuneration group 13 TV-L (collective agreement on working conditions in public service of the federal states). The position is initially limited to a three years contract.

Tasks

Responsibilities: Participation in the chair´s research in public international law, European law and international economic law. Main focus on own PhD research under supervision of Chair holder.

Requirements

Recruitment requirements:

• Masters or comparable degree in Law, with distinction
• Study focus on European law and/or public international law; interest and knowledge in international economic law, in particular competition and WTO law advantageous
• Proficiency in English language, both orally and in writing
• German language skills are an advantage but not required.
