IoT Software Engineer (m/f/x)

THE ROLE

As IoT Software Engineer (m/f/x) at ParkDepot, you are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software for IoT devices and the backend systems required to process events from IoT devices. This includes creating and implementing software for connected devices as well as designing and implementing communication protocols for these devices to connect to the backend.

YOUR MISSION

• Design and Development: You will design and develop software for IoT devices, maintain backend systems to process events from IoT devices, and implement security protocols to protect IoT devices and systems
• Analysis and Improvement: In addition to debugging and troubleshooting software issues, you will continuously evaluate and improve software performance by identifying potential problems and proposing appropriate solutions
• Ensuring Quality: You create and maintain documentation for software and systems and perform monitoring and maintenance of IoT systems to ensure high availability and scalability
• Collaboration: To integrate software and hardware you will collaborate with hardware engineers to get the best results

• What we use: We use Serverless Python functions for our Microservices and GPU enhanced microcontrollers to run our deep learning models on the edge and store the data in the AWS cloud
• We are agile: You will take a great part in shaping our engineering standards - you will be highly involved in how the software architecture will be designed and how future features can be released

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Your background: You have 3+ years experience in product engineering or R&D experience
• Your expertise: You are proficient in Python and add that with knowledge over Bash scripting and C/C++. You are comfortable in working with Linux command line and using GNU tools to check the quality of a code while hiring engineers
• Your heart beats for cloud and data bases: You are experienced with AWS services, like Lambda, EC2, S3 and IAM as well as SQL (PostgreSQL)
• You Understanding: You understand of the main networking concepts (TCP, UDP, DNS, routing, firewalling, NAT) and of the main security concepts
• You are a proactive problem solver: You are a natural problem solver that cannot rest until the issue is not 100% solved
• Language Skills: You have strong written and spoken English skills (level C1 on the CEFR scale)
