Overview
Higher Ground is bringing on a Regional Operations and Admissions Lead to join our regional support team. The Regional Operations and Admissions Lead plays a vital role of supporting campuses within our Guidepost Montessori (Infant-Kindergarten and Guidepost Academy (Elementary-High School) networks. This support can take a variety of forms including but not exclusive to training, coaching and directly leaning in with school teams to ensure high-quality curriculum delivery and learning environments, proactive admissions and retention efforts, operational excellence that leads to a next level parent and staff experience, community engagement and outreach to build an enduring admissions and talent pipeline.
Overall, the Regional Operations and Admissions Lead helps the schools in their region achieve greater school health by caring deeply about people, programs, and profitability. As a mission-driven organization, the profitability of each individual school is the tangible realization of our mission.
We’re scaling quickly and are a network of over 150 schools. We’re looking for an individual who is both a big-picture thinker capable of surveying our vast landscape of school needs and a hands-on doer with the skills to quickly solve problems and scale practical, effective practices that help us have thriving and profitable schools. This person needs to be a “player-coach” who gets into the work with the school teams while they are ramping up to execute independently. This person also needs to be a total owner. That doesn’t mean you do all the things, but it does mean you make sure all the things get done.
If you’re excited about working in an entrepreneurial environment and building capacity in others to enable widespread change in education today, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
The Regional Operations and Admissions Lead will be a member of a small but mighty regional team supporting a portfolio of about a dozen schools. This team functions as a cross-functional powerhouse alongside school teams to own the holistic success of each school. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Build operational excellence in school teams. This individual will play a key part in supporting our school teams to have clean data and tight running day-to-day operations. Utilizing both deep experience and knowledge of our systems and processes alongside data-rich metrics, this regional team member ensures that our school teams have the coaching and side by side support to effectively support items like timely tuition billing and collection, optimized staff scheduling, efficient and fiscally responsible school-level processes, pristine online student, and staff files. The goal is to make the capability of operational excellence visible in our school leaders and instill a passion for great operations as driving force in delivering an exemplar parent experience.
- Foster enrollment growth and community engagement within school teams. This role will be instrumental in providing support and working closely with our school teams to become leaders within their communities. With a strong understanding of our schools and educational philosophy, as well as a passion for building relationships, this regional team member will ensure that our school teams have the necessary support to effectively attract families to join our school communities. This includes conducting exceptional tours and admissions events, providing personalized admissions support to families to help them appreciate the benefits of a Montessori education, and ensuring that families who enroll remain engaged and committed.
- Achieve the outcome of fully enrolled and profitable schools. A high-quality Montessori program is essential to our organization's mission. We believe that by establishing a strong program foundation and achieving operational excellence, along with increasing enrollment, profitability naturally follows. As a for-profit education organization, we stand behind our ability to expand Montessori education on a broad scale. Therefore, it is the collective responsibility of every regional support team member, particularly those in this role, to not just uphold, but drive the profitability of each school within the region. Working collaboratively with other regional team members and school teams, this position will ensure a comprehensive portfolio of prosperous, sustainable, and profitable schools.
- Amplify our core values. Lastly, the Regional Operations and Admissions Lead also has a unique responsibility as a cultural touchstone because of the role’s position at the center of the connection between schools and the broader company. The Regional Operations and Admissions Lead must exemplify and amplify the core values of our organization, with a particular emphasis on practical idealism and open kitchen autonomy. They should propagate our company culture in all directions through every interaction with colleagues, school personnel, and customers. They must guard against risks to our company culture through vigilance and proactive communication of observations and concerns.
