This is a newly created, very unique Receptionist/Ambassador position for a major retail chain's downtown Chicago location, housing operations for its trendier online division. There is no central phone line coming into the building, so the majority of the work is in-person, greeting visitors, etc. This is a great opportunity to gain experience coordinating with photographers, freelancers, marketing staff, designers, advertising agencies, etc. in a very busy environment.
The receptionist will greet and assist all visitors and staff. Some of the responsibilities would include managing and keeping track of the visitors log, maintaining a business meeting seating chart, and working with the Facilities Manager to assist in inventory on cleaning, kitchen, vending and office supplies. This individual will also keep track of key cards, check people in and out throughout the day, and monitor some shipping and receiving of products. Some data entry work and (primarily inter-office) fax and e-mail communication are required. The candidate will also keep track of the phone directory, making sure it is current. Seeking someone who is flexible, personable, organized, and who can be an "ambassador" for the company.
This would be a temporary assignment guaranteed until January 2014, but it will very likely result in extension of a permanent employment offer for the right person.
6-hour days, Monday through Friday, with a starting time at 8am.
Offices are located one block from the L. There is also a parking lot in the back of the building.
