Leadership Responsibilities/ Key Stakeholders:

Be passionate & contribute to an improved, impactful understanding for all relevant stakeholders while also upskilling GBO in the discipline and its value.

Purpose of Role
Act as GBO Communications and Engagement business partner. This includes:
  • Support the Head of GBO and GBO LT with communications and engagement related planning and delivery activities including any campaign opportunities you identify as part of your role to assist in supporting GBO’s current transformation to run like a business and put the service experience at the heart of everything they do.
  • Ensure GBO’s transformation narrative and strategy is developed and consistently communicated in an engaging and inspiring way – always providing clarity on GBO’s focus areas and progression in achieving its objectives. (Note, GBO’s next collective strategy meeting will be taking place in in London November 2022).
  • Act in an advisory capacity with the Client Engagement Leads to spot communication opportunities that enhance the understanding and reputation of GBO’s people and services within our markets and functions and also ensure optimal communications for their key meetings with senior stakeholders e.g. market strategic connects.
  • Work in an advisory capacity with GBO roles responsible for communicating to customers, suppliers and the people in Client who use our business services to ensure all communications are accurate, clear, concise, timely and on brand.
  • Partner closely with GBO Capability and HR to develop and deliver inspiring narratives and proof points regarding both the GBO employee value proposition and our GBO culture e.g My GBO Development, Your Voice annual engagement survey, GBO Grade 4 Talent Programme, GBO Blue Label Awards
  • Develop and deliver high-quality, written content for internal (and, occasionally, external) channels, in support of agreed initiatives, and work with the wider Client Employee Engagement, CR and communications team when required.
  • Own the strategy and delivery of all GBO Communications channels including Mosaic (Sharepoint) Yammer, Populo targeted email campaigns etc.
  • Connect regularly with the Global Employee Engagement team to ensure alignment to and amplification of all Client global employee initiatives and communications.
  • Work collaboratively with Hub Communications Managers where applicable (e.g. Budapest and Bangalore).

  • Own GBO Communication & Engagement strategy:
    • Take ownership of overall GBO Communications Strategy and its delivery
    • Enhance the understanding and reputation of GBO’s people and services within our markets and functions.
    • Continually promote and showcase what outstanding communications looks like
  • Amazing Relationships:
    • Collaborate with the Head of GBO, GBO LT and other critical stakeholders to enable plans into action.
    • Develop a deep understanding and strong relationships with key GBO stakeholders in the functions and markets
    • Collaborate with external vendors where necessary to ensure their service/product offering is used in right manner to develop the solution
  • Thought Leadership:
    • Spot and highlight opportunities to improve communications and engagement across the function and with our stakeholders to help develop a clear and favorable perception of what GBO does.
    • Assess and design overall GBO communications delivery network, including ongoing channel and tools review.
    • Be an expert in field of communications & employee engagement. Be a subject matter expert and potential mentor to others. This includes for Storytelling as part of the My GBO Development program.
Qualifications and Experience Required
  • Post Graduate/Masters preferably in Communications, Public Relations or MBA. A Change management professional certification would be an additional advantage.
  • Minimum 12+ plus years’ experience working with multinational companies or public relations/communications agencies or related fields
  • Deep understanding and experience of corporate communication roles – specifically employee engagement, and corporate reputation. Strong understanding and delivery of change communications are an advantage.
  • Comfortable interacting with senior executives.
  • Excellent relationship management - ability to achieve results by leveraging others.
  • Strong planner with an ability to deliver high quality outcomes.
  • Demonstrate considerable understanding of business services including the ability to articulate results for a range of internal & external audiences.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with stakeholder groups at different levels.
  • Performance driven mind-set that makes the connection to business impact with pace
  • Ability to shape future outcomes, overcome challenges with a positive outlook.
  • Ability to inspire and galvanize people behind a possibility.
  • Proven track record as a collaborative team player, able to work in a cross functional team and collaborate to deliver to ambitious timelines.
  • Strong & creative communications skills – written, verbal and digital.
  • Resilient in driving transformation through powerful narrative and engagement activities – comfortable with some level of ambiguity, can see the big picture whilst paying attention to the detail
  • Strong problem-solving planning/ organizing, highly detail conscious
The role is best suited for someone who -
  • Has commercial sense, ability to craft leadership messaging with clear ties back to the transformation and strategic agenda / business objectives.
  • Has a creative flair for effective, memorable, and engaging communications and experiences including written comms, creative online campaigns and engaging townhalls and employee events.
  • Good at liaising with and influencing the external environment towards his or her agenda.
  • Excellent relationship management skills with senior stakeholders
  • Is adept at working with ambiguity and is a self-starter.
