Essential duties of a probation officer aide include greeting visitors to the Adult Parole and Probation Office, determining nature of the visit, and routing them accordingly; answering telephone and directing calls; handling mail; confirming appointments; preparing correspondence, documentation, and files; performing data entry; maintaining forms inventory; and assisting staff with general office tasks.
Requirements
Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or GED; two years' work experience in an office setting; effective verbal and written communications skills; a strong customer service orientation; ability to work with varied personalities and backgrounds; computer literacy; and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
