Wallpay is seeking an experienced Actuary to join our team. As an Actuary at Wallpay, you will play a key role in analyzing and assessing financial risks, applying mathematical and statistical methods to determine the probability and potential impact of future events. You will work closely with our finance and risk management teams to develop strategies and models that optimize our organization’s financial performance and stability.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze data on various financial risks, such as mortality, morbidity, and investment risks.
  • Develop mathematical models and utilize statistical analysis to quantify and predict risks.
  • Perform financial forecasting and scenario analysis to assess the potential impact of various risk factors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and develop risk management strategies.
  • Conduct research and stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Determining the pricing of insurance policies by analyzing data and trends to ensure policies are competitively priced while maintaining profitability.
  • Estimating the amount of money that needs to be set aside to pay future claims.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Qualified or working towards qualification as an actuary (e.g., Fellow or Associate of a recognized professional actuarial organization).
  • Proven experience working as an Actuary, preferably in the financial services or insurance industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in statistical modeling and analysis software, such as R, SAS, or Python.
  • Knowledge of actuarial principles, including risk assessment, financial mathematics, and insurance products.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
