Scope of work & the value you will add to our customers:
You will be a key member of the Finance team, driving the transformation of Finance and Treasury systems and processes
You will play a major role in preparing for, testing and implementing the new FIS Quantum Treasury Management System.
You will provide data analysis and problem solving to ensure accurate and timely data migration and conduct thorough User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to support delivery of the project to plan in terms of both time and quality.
You will ensure all the data required by Finance is available for reporting within Quantum or through the Strategic Data Hub to drive simpler, faster and better decisions.
You will ensure the bank is protected by removing areas of operational risk from the legacy Treasury process and ensure potential new risks are avoided
You will take the lead in identifying improvements and deliver these through your own skills or through successful collaboration with colleagues.
Role & Responsibilities:
The principal aim of this role is to support the Head of Finance and Treasury for Data & Analytics in ensuring the new Treasury Management System (TMS) meets the needs of the Finance team.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Exploration of the existing Treasury datasets particularly those currently outside the legacy Treasury system and those with heavy manual dependencies
• Ensure all required data is included in the Data Migration plan and that the FIS Quantum outputs do not require further manual intervention
• Ensure adequate testing and controls are in place to validate the Data Migration is executed effectively, adapting the process for any unforeseen challenges
• Become familiar with the Quantum reporting engine to support the Regulatory Reporting team in creation of an extract to feed the Whistlebrook ALFI System
• Write SQL queries/Power BI Dashboards to create reports which support comparisons between the legacy and new systems, documenting variances and working with the wider team to achieve satisfactory results
• Review and challenge the planned Business As Usual (BAU) processes to ensure they are streamlined and minimize human intervention
• Co-ordinate User Acceptance Testing on behalf of Finance, ensuring that robust test scripts are in place, all tests are performed, defects are shared and re-testing is completed in good time
• Work with stakeholders to ensure the TMS data identified is replicated in the Microsoft Azure Strategic Data Hub (SDH)
• Construct reports on the SDH to support Finance and wider teams
• Seek to proactively suggest enhancements to improve the TMS processes
• Support colleagues in Finance with the project implementation and remediation post Go-Live
• Manage stakeholder relationships to achieve optimal outcomes
• Champion a data-enabled culture which delivers trusted data enabling our people to spend less time manually manipulating data and more time analysing it to drive better informed, more timely decisions
• Deputise for the Head of Finance and Treasury for Data & Analytics in TMS meetings
Requirements
Mandatory Skills:
· The role requires a niche skillset including advanced data, Treasury & Finance experience to support delivery of this critical project.
· Advanced coding skills e.g. SQL, Python or similar
· Advanced Excel skills including VBA
· Working knowledge of how Finance and Treasury systems operate
· Self-starter able to apply coding skills to dissect systems and solve problems, adapting to differing languages and architectures
· Proven track record of identifying opportunities and synergies and applying these to solutions which solve data problems
· Ability to communicate technical concepts, ideas and solutions in an accessible way
· Proven experience of extracting, documenting, validating, reconciling, and reporting data.
· Relevant retail banking experience in a data-led discipline
· University Degree or equivalent as a minimum, specific data qualifications are preferred but not essential
Desirable Skills:
• Experience of working on a Treasury Management System implementation project
• FIS Quantum Treasury Management System Experience
• Practical experience onboarding data to Microsoft Azure Data Lake
• Experience co-ordinating virtual teams featuring both technical and business experts, challenging performance as required
