Job Summary
The Daytime Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring a safe, orderly, and positive environment during lunch and recess periods. This position involves supervising students, enforcing school policies, and providing support as needed to facilitate a smooth and enjoyable midday break.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision: Monitor and supervise students during lunch and recess periods to ensure their safety and well-being.
Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve minor conflicts and behavioral issues among students in a fair and consistent manner.
Safety: Ensure that students adhere to safety guidelines and procedures, including maintaining appropriate behavior in designated areas.
Support: Provide assistance to students as needed, including helping with opening lunch containers, ensuring they have access to necessary resources, and offering support in the event of minor accidents or injuries.
Compliance: Enforce school policies and procedures regarding student conduct and report any significant issues or incidents to the appropriate school staff.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, administrators, and other staff members to coordinate activities and address any concerns related to student behavior or safety.
Communication: Maintain effective communication with students, staff, and parents as needed, and provide feedback on student behavior and lunchtime activities.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to manage and supervise groups of children effectively.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with students.
Ability to handle minor conflicts and emergencies calmly and professionally.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and assist with minor physical tasks, including helping students as needed.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Previous experience working with children in a school or recreational setting is preferred.
