Lead/ Senior Lead QA (Automation)

POSITION SUMMARY-

 

We are looking for a skilled Automation Lead to guide and oversee the creation of automated test frameworks for both web and API services. This role will involve leading a team of automation engineers, ensuring quality through automation best practices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Selenium, API testing, and experience managing and mentoring teams

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Leadership & Strategy:

·        Lead and mentor a team of automation engineers, providing guidance on test automation best practices.

·        Develop and drive the overall automation strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

·        Collaborate with product owners, and development teams to plan and execute comprehensive testing strategies.

 

Automation Development:

·        Design, build, and maintain scalable and reusable test automation frameworks for UI automation using Selenium and API testing.

·        Create and maintain test scripts for validating functionality of web applications and APIs.

 

Test Planning & Execution:

·        Define test strategies, develop test plans, and create test cases to ensure high-quality releases.

·        Oversee the execution of automated test suites and monitor test results.

·        Ensure timely identification, logging, tracking, and resolution of issues and defects.

 

 CI/CD Integration:

·        Integrate automated test frameworks with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or similar to ensure continuous testing.

·        Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate test execution and reporting.

Team Management:

·        Coach and train the team on automation tools, frameworks, and practices.

·        Conduct code reviews to ensure high standards for automation code quality and maintainability.

API & Web Service Testing:

·        Lead the testing of RESTful and SOAP APIs, ensuring data integrity and integration between components.

·        Automate API testing and integrate it with existing test frameworks.

Stakeholder Communication:

·        Communicate automation test results, project status, and potential risks to stakeholders.

·        Coordinate with developers, product owners, and business analysts to clarify requirements and resolve issues.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

·        7+ years of experience in automation testing with a focus on Selenium and API testing.

·        At least 3 years of leadership experience in managing or mentoring QA automation teams.

·        Proficiency in building test automation frameworks from scratch using Selenium WebDriver.

·        Expertise in API testing using Postman, RestAssured, or similar tools.

·        Strong coding skills in Java for test automation.

·        Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Bamboo for integrating automation into the development pipeline.

·        Knowledge of version control systems like Git.

·        Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and the QA role within the development lifecycle,
