PART-TIME RUNNER
The Runner is required to assist in the unpacking of all customer packages that are distributed and delivered by company drivers to the specific location for which they are responsible. They are to ensure the packages are entered into the system once received in store, as well as securing and delivering documents, packages and other inter-office correspondence and messages delivered by drivers to the respective individuals.
The runner’s position is critical in reducing the length of time the customer spends waiting to collect packages from the storage area. As part of a team where excellent customer service is a priority, the Runner also provides information and assistance to all of our customers here at West Tech Shipping , while also being committed to resolving concerns with a focus on 100% customer satisfaction. As such, all Runners are excellent communicators who are professional, patient, positive and empathetic. They are also highly-focused on providing expedient, accurate service in our fast-paced environment, to ensure all customers are served in a timely manner.
WORK SCHEDULE
Working Days: Tuesday - Saturday
Working Hours: 9am - 1pm
JOB DUTIES
- Ensure a high level of customer service is provided to all internal and external customers at all times, to deliver 100% satisfaction.
- Answer questions from customers about our services and products (e.g., billing, account opening process, auctioned products and customer service policies).
- Receiving, scanning and packing of all newly received packages.
- Reconciliation of all packages upon delivery of goods.
- Responsible for collecting and systematically sorting and packing cargo in-store, in accordance with established procedures.
- Accurately and expediently collect and process all payments received for products and services from customers.
- Ensure that all cargo is handled in a safe and professional manner.
- Perform daily inventory counts.
- Maintenance of storeroom with a focus on ensuring it is always neatly and systematically organized, in accordance with the company's stand operating procedure, to ensure packages can be easily identified and disbursed to customers.
- Provide administrative support to team members and store supervisor/manager when needed.
- Receive accurate online orders from customers and pass on to the respective authorities for action (accounts clerk).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proven customer service experience (at least 1 year).
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs without strain.
- At least 1 year of experience in cash handling/cash management in a business environment (preferred but not required).
- Well spoken, with an outgoing and friendly personality.
- Patient, with the ability to remain calm and professional during challenging interactions
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize time effectively.
- Flexible with the ability to work on weekends.
- Knowledge of brokerage or courier service industry preferred, but not required.
- Ability to provide accurate, valid and comprehensive information to customers, by applying the right knowledge
- Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to follow up on resolutions
- Ability to maintain high levels of productivity and focus in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow communication procedures, guidelines, and policies
- Disciplined and focused worker.
