Spotify is seeking an experienced Data Scientist II to join our Trust & Safety Insights (TSI) team. TSI’s mission aims to foster a secure, inclusive, and safe platform through evidence-based interventions driven by strategic data and research science efforts.
TSI proactively identifies, analyzes, and mitigates risks to Spotify and opportunities for the wider T&S organization. Our work empowers teams across Spotify to make product and policy decisions that promote creators’ opportunity to live off their art and fans’ opportunity to enjoy and be inspired by it in a safe, equitable manner. This role will partner with other T&S teams to ensure product teams have the data and insights to enable faster, wider, and safer innovation. This includes measurement to inform product and market launches, foundational research to understand risks in emerging technologies, and product interventions to promote safety. We aim to help Spotify teams innovate responsible and identify opportunities to create safer experiences throughout the entirety of the product life cycle.

- Deliver in-depth qualitative and quantitative research insights to inform high-impact, high-priority, and challenging problem spaces related to safety
- Develop custom longitudinal metrics for trust and safety, implement them, and demonstrate their efficacy
- Scope and execute other measurement and intervention projects that support T&S advocacy to R&D
- Effectively manage and prioritize research plans through ambiguous and fast-changing environments
- Leverage existing data to better unlock products by anticipating safety needs, studying potential/existing dynamics, and delivering outcomes to address trust/safety concerns

You will work with a variety of teams, including product teams, policy stakeholders, researchers, data scientists, insights leaders, and engineers.
