In your role, you will have a high degree of flexibility to shape a fast growing product from the ground up, working in a high profile cross-functional team and launching new features at a fast pace.
As a Director, Engineering, you will be responsible for growing and leading a product focused Engineering team, as well as end-to-end project execution.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the growing software engineering team, including responsibility for recruiting, career development, and mentoring of team members
- Oversee product development from concept to production, driving the timely delivery of high quality feature releases and improvements
- Provide technical direction, guidance, and hands-on management
- Plan for operational efficiency to scale products, programs and practices as we grow and expand
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and other teams as well as external partners
- Understand technical dependencies with other parts of the wider organization and communicate cross functionally
- Radiate our company values, elevate the team culture, and be a voice for the team
What We’re Looking For:
- 8+ years of experience in Software Development at a fast growing company and on user-facing applications
- 4+ years of experience in managing cross-functional development teams globally
- Domain expertise in the travel and/or payment industries is a plus
- Track record of building, scaling and maturing engineering teams as well as infrastructure in a startup environment is a plus
- Track record of working with a high degree of autonomy and strong bias to take accountability
- Ability to balance business needs, a sense of urgency, and shipping high quality and pragmatic solutions
- Charisma and interpersonal skills to coach and motivate staff through learning and development
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience
