Product Development Internship

About

Oppermann is a young men’s leather goods brand. Founded in 2012 by brothers Niklas and Mattis, Oppermann’s aesthetic is centred upon clean,  shapes, minimalism and highly considered design.

We are growing rapidly, and our core collection has within a year become stocked in the UK, France, Italy, Turkey, the US and Korea. In January, we will show at London Collections: Men and Pitti Uomo.
 

The role

We are looking for a Designer/Product Developer Intern to support us in developing new products. Starting at end of November, we are looking for you to join us 8-16 hours per week. The internship/work placement is paid, salary to be discussed.

Your main duties are
- Researching key trends
- Develop new products
- Develop seasonal themes and colour palettes
- Sourcing new materials (leathers, fabrics, hardware)
- Take ownership from initial design concept through to production.
- Liaise with suppliers 

Ideally, you have
- Design experience in accessories, preferably handbags or men’s accessories
- Technical knowledge of working with leather and fabrics
- Ability to draw freehand as well as strong digital drawing skills
- A structured design process
- Be in your second or third year of your degree

We offer you an opportunity to be part of the core team, with lots of responsibility in the design and development process. If successful, it is possible that the internship will lead to a full-time position.
