Associate Director

We are Health Unlimited and we are looking for an ambitious and confident Associate Director to join our busy team based in Soho, London.

The Associate Director is a key role within our agency. You will have excellent account handling skills and the competency to deliver the effective strategy and direction needed to ensure results. Working across a range of projects, you will take pride in delivering exceptional educational programmes and will be highly organised and forward thinking to ensure that your clients’ needs are met.

This role will be based within Rock Unlimited who are the Medical Education and Scientific Engagement specialists within Health Unlimited, combining a team of scientists proficient in delivering high quality content, training and education.

Our clients:

We work for pharmaceutical, medical device and consumer health companies, government agencies, medical societies and advocacy organisations.

This is a hybrid position with one day a week required at our London offices.

About the role:

Account proficiency

• Providing the senior level consultancy to team and clients needed to ensure results.
• Responsible for leading over 1M of client business.
• Management and mentoring of teams to build their communications expertise and client service skills.
• Have an excellent understanding of medical/brand strategy and the healthcare landscape including industry, NHS and ex UK developments to provide trusted strategic counsel to the client team.
• Understand broader communications to identify when other disciplines or skills may be needed and how these should be integrated.

Strategic and scientific direction

• Provide ongoing strategic counsel, develop brand plans and oversee their delivery.
• Have an excellent understanding of medical/brand strategy and the healthcare landscape including industry, NHS and ex UK developments to provide trusted strategic counsel to the client team.
• Understand broader communications to identify when other disciplines or skills may be needed and how these should be integrated

Financial responsibilities

• Ensuring accounts under your remit are profitable and over-service is kept to a minimum.
• Financial reporting and forecasting of accounts.

New business

• Leading and winning new business pitches working to deliver RFIs and develop and deliver pitches.
• Utilise previous and existing client relationships to generate new business leads.

Leadership and team development

• Strong leadership to engage and inspire your teams and the wider team within the consultancy.
• Mentor/line-manage multiple team members within the company and help develop their ability and experience through coaching and experience building.
• Drive account team development and structure.
• Member of the management team for Rock and Leadership team working across Health Unlimited companies.
• Commitment to and involvement in improving ways of working across the company.

Requirements

• Manage timings and implementation of account deliverables with confidence and accuracy
• Excellent client handling experience and expertise
• Effective financial planning and awareness of the implications of profitability
• Strong presentation skills and experience in developing new business proposals
• High standards in grammar and understanding of the editorial skills needed for excellence in communication
• Excellent writing skills and attention to detail
• Understanding of end user needs (Patient, KOL, HCP, client)
