Job Description:
- Our Client is seeking a Test Specialist for its Engine and Hybrid Powertrain team.
- This Test Specialist position is an opportunity for the right candidate to experience state-of-the-art powertrain technology and get involved in a wide range of development tasks that move application solutions from concept to production.
Job Responsibilities: - You will conduct and coordinate vehicle- or engine-based testing and evaluations of engine and hybrid powertrain systems
- Support project engineers and project managers on a variety of projects encompassing several aspects of powertrain development.
- Specialist will be expected to conduct projects with a high level of professionalism while meeting and/or exceeding our clients' technical and timing expectations within the predefined project budget limits.
- Create test plans, set up data acquisition systems, flash control modules, manage project inventory, coordinate vehicle testing, coordinate vehicle maintenance/repair/upfits and prepare detailed customer presentations/reports.
- Hands-on aptitudes/interest with strong attention to detail and desire/ability to understand test plans is key for this role.
Required Qualifications: - Understanding of engine and hybrid powertrain components
- 5 years of experience with coordination of powertrain development tasks
- Demonstrated teamwork, leadership and project management skills
- Exceptional customer communication and presentation skills
- Hands-on aptitudes/interest
- Demonstrated experience in supporting of powertrain development and testing
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate development vehicle fleets and provide direction to drivers, technicians and fabricators
Preferred Qualifications: - BSME or BSEE preferred but not necessary, Associates degree is also acceptable
- Working knowledge of all types of engines and powertrain systems
- Knowledge of the powertrain calibration process
- Programming (Excel/Visual Basic, Matlab, etc.)
- Data acquisition equipment HW/SW such as ATI Vision, ETAS INCA, ADAPT/iTest, CANape, CANalyzer, CSM, etc.
- Hybrid systems / high voltage system knowledge
- Understanding of electrical circuits / wiring
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Project, etc.)
