Principal Responsibilities:

Owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests.
Fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs.
Reviewing service related reports (e.g., database backups, maintenance, monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs.
Responding to database related alerts and to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems.
Collaborates in the development of Enterprise Architecture standards and strategy in relation to database platform.
Provides direction to offshore database team.
Utilizes performance and capacity management tools for proactive management.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor degree or equivalent working experience
5-10 years of experience with Database Administration (Oracle or SQL Server)
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems
Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts
Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics
Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations
Good communication and documentation skills
Ability to plan, organize, schedule, and manage personal work and small projects.
Experience deploying, configuring, patching, and upgrading following best practices
Experience using Avamar for backups
Experience with VMWare
Willingness to work as part of a team
Ability to support and troubleshoot SSIS, SSRS, SSAS

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

Experience with both Oracle and SQL Server is a plus
Certification is a plus
Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options
Ability to diagnose problems and resolve issues across various tiers (application, database , network, server and storage)
Knowledge of data migration, replication, archiving, and access techniques

Experience with PowerShell
