DevOps Engineering/Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

As an SRE at Roadpost, you will act in a cross functional scrum team to help rebuild our Ecommerce platform. You have a strong cloud & DevOps background and enjoy a hands-on role where you can see the direct impact of your work.   

You posses a comprehensive technical knowledge and the ability to rapidly understand, assess and offer problem solutions. You will help with service uptime, design review, automation via IAC and CI/CD best practices.  Code all things! 

Responsibilities: 

• Provide technical expertise and solutions for operations and development
• Understand the business and develop and document technical requirements and solutions with stakeholders
• Liaise with the different departments to spec out solutions
• Perform routine application and maintenance to ensure the production environment runs smoothly. Develop maintenance requirements and procedures.
• Assist in code testing, processes, and deployments to identify ways to streamline and minimize errors.
• Recommend and develop changes to automate processes
• Scope projects and tasks
• Assist  and contribute to project planning
• Develop upgrade paths for the current systems.
• Develop, code build, install, configure, and maintain IT solutions.
• Experience of implementing security best practices in both AWS and CI/CD pipelines etc 

Qualifications: 

• 3+ years experience in a similar role
• Strong communicator; requires good verbal and written communication across numerous teams.
• Excellent technical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Well organised and able to prioritise a daily work schedule
• Experience in software development and managing schedules. Knowledge of scripting languages and understanding of coding languages.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills, ability to understand processes and procedures and to document them
• Ability to communicate with and work across multiple vendors delivering real time services
• Support of a Real time live environment
• Understanding and ability to implement best practices with always on, always available services.
• Deployment and integration experience
• Expert experience in AWS Infrastructure, including EC2, Cognito, Lambda, DynamoDB, etc
• Experience at working in an Agile environment 

Skills: 

• Intermediate to advanced Typescript
• Advanced IAC with AWS CDK, Cloudformations
• Advanced experience with GitHub & Github Actions
• Advanced experience with Continuous Integration, and deployment
• Experience with Datadog
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless deployment patterns
