Our client is an accounting firm (CPA) providing a full range of professional services including audit and attest engagements, compilations and reviews, tax preparation and compliance, business and management consulting, bookkeeping, payroll, and other related services. They focus on serving small and mid-size organizations in the New York and New Jersey areas.

Over-all Purpose and Responsibilities:
You will lead a small team with a strong focus on continued growth. This role requires a hands-on approach, where you’ll actively lead from the front as the company expands incrementally. Your core responsibilities will encompass leadership, strategic planning, capacity management, service delivery, legal compliance and team development.
Responsibilities:
- Management and supervision of functional managers (audit, tax, accounting and bookkeeping)
- Monitoring of completion of client deliverables
- Recruitment and retention of professional staff:
- Development and implementation of recruitment strategy
- Development, benchmarking, and adjustment of compensation strategy
- Resource allocation:
- Creation of staffing plan at the beginning of the year (capacity planning)
- Optimization and adjustments to the staffing plan during the year
- Operational Metrics:
- Development of annual operating goals and budget
- Review of operational metrics (e.g., revenue and expenses by functional line, staffing efficiency, budget versus actual
- Marketing:
- Implementation of marketing plan
- Compliance:
- Review of company-wide financial statements
- Oversight of financial, tax, payroll, and other regulatory compliance
- Other job responsibilities may be assigned to you depending on business needs.
Requirements
- Candidates from any industry are welcome, with a preference for those coming from accounting firms.
- Proven experience managing and supervising functional managers in areas such as audit, tax, accounting, and bookkeeping - Highly advantageous
- Proficiency in developing annual operating goals and budgets
- Knowledge of implementing and managing marketing plans to support business objectives
- Experience in reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of company-wide financial statements
- Strong oversight capabilities for financial, tax, payroll, and other regulatory compliance areas.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and make data-driven decisions

Schedule: Monday – Friday. Part of the workweek aligned with Philippine business hours and the other part with US business hours. Specific working hours can be flexible and will be negotiated with the candidate later on in the process.
