Planned Parenthood Western Pennsylvania (PPWP) is the local affiliate of the country’s leading sexual and reproductive health care advocate and provider. PPWP operates six health centers located in Allegheny, Westmoreland, and Cambria Counties and provides education and advocacy services throughout western Pennsylvania.
Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania is seeking a full-time Director of Donor Engagement. The Director of Donor Engagement is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage, cultivate, and steward existing and new donors to advance the mission of Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania. This role involves working closely with the Development Team to enhance donor relationships, increase donor retention, and secure major gifts. The Director will create and execute personalized engagement plans for the organization’s major donors, focusing on building strong, lasting relationships.
Reports To: Vice President of Development
Salary Range: $75,000-$80,000
Amount of Travel Required:10%-50%
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, some evenings and weekends may be required
In conjunction with the VP of Development and the CEO, the Director of Donor Engagement is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing annual fundraising and stewardship strategies that support the organization’s needs long-term.
This position includes, but is not limited to each of the following activities:
- Segment donors based on giving history, interests, and giving potential to tailor communication and engagement strategies effectively.
- Develop and implement customized stewardship plans for major donors, ensuring ongoing engagement and support.
- Collaborate with team members to create or identify meaningful engagement opportunities for donors, including in-person and/or virtual events and volunteer opportunities.
- Engage the Board in donor prospecting, cultivation, stewardship, retention, and growth.
- Collaborate with Operations and Finance departments to prepare proposals and other donor-focused materials that accurately communicate the organization’s needs and funding impact.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to develop compelling donor communications, including newsletters, impact reports, and personalized updates.
- Prepare and execute presentations for donors and prospect audiences.
- Ensure all Development events are strategically aligned with donor engagement goals and provide meaningful opportunities for donor interaction.
- Provide leadership to Development staff, fostering a collaborative and results-driven team environment.
- Work within a designated budget for engagement activities.
- Attends and supports special events.
- Create and support opportunities, systems, and expectations that promote an organization culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields, marketing, communications, or nonprofit management.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in managing nonprofit fundraising campaigns and events; maintained a portfolio of donors and partners and can demonstrate growth; and well-networked in Greater Pittsburgh area.
Licenses:
Must have access to a car and maintain a valid Pennsylvania license and insurance.
Computer Skills:
Ability to use Google Suites, Microsoft Office - Word, Outlook, and Excel, and Donor Database Software
