Scope of Position:
Overseeing hotel building interior & exterior repairs and assist the Chief of Engineer with supervising maintenance staff
Primary Responsibilities:
Ø Maintenance and repair of plumbing, hotel rooms, A/C and heating, ice machine, swimming pools, lighting, kitchen equipment, refrigeration, laundry, emergency generators, switch rooms, etc.
Ø Ensuring all maintenance and repairs are completed on a timely, cost effective basis and according to specifications.
Ø Ordering necessary materials and tools for repairing equipment and keeps within budgetary guidelines.
Ø Performing all engineering / maintenance duties and an ongoing preventative maintenance program for the hotel.
Ø Administering and documenting equipment preventative maintenance and guest room preventative maintenance.
Ø Safety and security of the department and the building.
Ø Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
Ø Follows company policies and procedures and is able to effectively communicate them to subordinates.
Ø Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
Ø Completes work orders daily
Ø Completes and sign off on am / pm engineering checklist daily per shift
Ø Pressure wash / remove snow at hotel entrance, parking lot and rear of building
Ø Fulfills nights & weekend Manager on Duty shifts.
Ø Assist Chief of Engineer with ensuring all fire and safety inspections are completed and any discrepancies are corrected.
Ø Keep all exterior grounds clean daily (ie: empty trash cans, parking lot, front of building, landscaping twice per shift
Ø Preventative maintenance checklist and completes minor repair work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc, to maintain the hotel and keep product quality to standard.
Ø Checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems and makes minor repairs and/ or replacement.
Ø Checking and makes minor repairs on general plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipe lines, toilets and sinks, kitchen and laundry equipment.
Ø Locks all doors & cuts off all lights of the kitchen, ballrooms and outlets at the end of each shift
Ø Enforcing the company break policy
Ø Attend morning NETMA & Bi-Weekly Staff Meetings in absence of Chief of Engineer
Ø Chairman of Safety Committee, responsible for monthly meetings, training and notes submitted to General Manager by the 25th of each month
Ø Note: All other duties not listed as assigned by any member of Management and or General Manager.
